Here are three keys to producing the best tasting tea possible from your Tiny House Teas.
1. In your tea infuser or tea strainer, place approximately 1 to 1.5 teaspoons of loose-leaf tea.
2. Heat your water to 195 degrees F. If you boil the water, allow it to cool slightly before pouring into your teapot. Water that is too hot does not brew the best tea.
3. Let the tea steep for about 2 minutes (longer if you want stronger tea). Because Tiny House Teas only sells premium tea leaves, your tea won’t become bitter if left in the hot water longer. The tea becomes darker in color and will have a stronger taste, but will not be bitter.
Note: if this is the initial (first) brew, I recommend that you pour about a cup of hot water over the tea leaves. Then, within 30 seconds, pour out the tea. This “wakes-up” the tea leaf and prepares it for a more delicious brew. Next, pour the hot water into your cup or pot allowing it to flow over the leaves. Now, the leaves are ready to give you their all. Follow the directions above.
Most important: Many people don’t realize that tea leaves can product as many as ten to fifteen pots of fragrant and delicious tea.
So, before discarding those tea leaves, enjoy the maximum number of brews from your tea. When your enjoyment of the tea begins to diminish, simply discard the leaves and begin the process.
